January - March term

Hi everyone,

I want to welcome you to CESL, if you are new, and welcome you back if you're returning. As CESL Activities Director, I am very excited about our upcoming trip to St. Louis on January 28, 2006. I hope all of you can make it. Remember that we're meeting in front of the SIU Student Center at 8:30 am. Don't be late! Bring your cameras and comfortable shoes. Also, don't forget to bring some money for food and shopping. I'll post other upcoming events here, so feel free to drop by my weblog any time to get an update.

GE/AE1 Core Writing

Hello. My GE/AE1 Core class has been writing
excellent paragraphs about interesting topics.
We have begun to send each other questions and
comments related to the information they have
published. I invite you to do the same to make
the writing process more interactive.
Thanks to all the students for all their hard
work. Good job everyone! I'm very proud of
your progress.

Sara, Plain and Tall

My CESL novel and film class have been reading an award winning novel called "Sarah, Plain and Tall." Both students from the GE level and my AE1 level have made writing contributions to the CESL weblog, showing their understanding and feelings about the novel and movie. I am very proud of them!
